Troll & Unicorn (trollandunicorn.com) is operated by Spinning Monkey Studios. This page explains what information this site collects, why, and how to reach us with questions.
Who We Are
Spinning Monkey Studios, Langley, British Columbia, Canada. Contact: info@trollandunicorn.com.
What We Collect
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and troubleshooting.
- Comments. If you leave a comment on a post, WordPress stores the name, email address, and website (if provided) you submit, along with your IP address and browser user-agent string, to help detect spam. Your comment and display name are shown publicly; your email address and IP address are not.
- Cookies. If you leave a comment, WordPress may set a cookie so you don’t have to re-enter your details next time. We do not currently use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not currently have a contact form, newsletter signup, user accounts, or any feature that asks visitors to create a profile. We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics or advertising tracking on this site at this time. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.
Children’s Privacy
Troll & Unicorn is family-friendly entertainment, but this website is intended for parents and general audiences, not as a service directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information (for example, through a blog comment), please contact us at info@trollandunicorn.com and we will remove it promptly.
Third Parties
We use Akismet, a spam-filtering service from Automattic, to check submitted comments for spam. Akismet may process the content, IP address, and browser information of a submitted comment as part of that check. See Automattic’s Privacy Policy for details.
If we introduce affiliate links (for example, through Amazon Associates) in the future, those merchants may set their own cookies when you click through to their site. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more on how we handle affiliate recommendations. We will update this section with the specific programs in use once any go live.
Data Retention
Comments and their associated data are kept until you ask us to remove them or we remove them as part of routine spam cleanup. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited operational period.
Your Rights
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you (such as a blog comment) by contacting us at info@trollandunicorn.com.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this page whenever what we collect or how we use it changes, and update the “last updated” date above.
